Grilled Catfish Recipe

A grilled catfish recipe is an amazing way to cook this fish and a nice change from the frying pan. Catfish can be grilled in so many different ways it might surprise you. One of our all time favorite grilled catfish recipes is below. The cream cheese and bacon make it one to die for!



INGREDIENTS

  • • 2 pounds catfish fillets
  • • 1 tablespoon chopped onion
  • • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • • 1 teaspoon ground thyme
  • • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • • 1 cup fresh bread crumbs
  • • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • • 3 tablespoons cream cheese
  • • Bacon
  • • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • • Lemon slices
  • • 1 tablespoon chopped celery
  • • Pimiento strips
INSTRUCTIONS

With 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 1/4 teaspoon of pepper, season the fillets. Sprinkle over the catfish 1 teaspoon lemon juice. Combine bread crumbs, cream cheese, 1 teaspoon lemon juice, celery, onion, parsley, thyme, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper.

Divide the stuffing mixture into portions and place 1 portion of stuffing at one end of each catfish fillet. Roll the catfish fillet around the stuffing. Fry bacon until cooked, but not crisp and wrap 2 slices of bacon around each catfish fillet; secure with a toothpick.

Place catfish rolls in a lightly greased grill. Grill at 350 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes or until fish flakes easily with a fork. Turn once.

Remove toothpicks before serving. Garnish with lemon slices and pimiento strips.
