Fly Rod
- For trout 3 to 6 weight rod
- For lake trout 5 to 6 weight rod
- For steelhead 7 to 8 weight rod
- For salmon and pike and 9 to 10 weight rod

A reel. Drag is recommended for steelhead and salmon, but not necessary for trout

Insect repellant (try to avoid deet as it can damage the finish on your fly rod)
